The winners of the ToyAward were announced at the opening ceremony of the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg. For Gollnest & Kiesel it was a particularly successful start to the fair, which took place from 29 January to 2 February 2020.Outstanding innovations are particularly popular with buyers and retailers at the International Toy Fair. To make it easier for them to find creative product ideas among the more than 120,000 new items presented at the world's leading fair, Spielwarenmesse eG presents the ToyAward every year. It is awarded to innovative new products in the four age-group-specific categories and in the Startup segment. The trophy is one of the most important awards in the toy industry and enjoys worldwide recognition as a seal of quality.
Almost 800 products were entered for the ToyAward. A jury of 16 experts selected this year's winners. The jury consisted of scientists, market researchers, educators, international trade representatives, a blogger and an expert on toy safety. The jurors evaluated the submitted innovations on the basis of the criteria originality, safety, potential for success in the trade, comprehensibility of the product concept, workmanship & quality, as well as fun to play with.
The PreSchool category was won by the Knight's Castle Ball Track from Gollnest & Kiesel. Thanks to the modular construction and with the help of a simple plug-in mechanism, a wide variety of castles can be built and connected with different walkways. Additional play elements can be integrated and set in motion by the rolling balls. Whether fast-paced or leisurely tracks – everything is possible. So there are no limits to the children’s imagination and creativity. And incidentally, the Knight’s Castle Ball Track also trains their three-dimensional imagination and motor skills. The colourful wooden components, the unlimited construction variety and the simple plug-in mechanism delighted the jury, who chose the Knight's Castle Ball Track as the winner in the PreSchool category.
The extensive set consists of 79 parts, is of course made of wood and can be up to 70 cm high.
